WHAT IS IT?

The Astronomy Lunch Series is a weekly informal meeting with a broad scope that includes most things astronomical. About ~50% of the time per meeting is devoted to general discussion. Food is delivered from a different Amherst restaurant each week through Delivery Express.

In the past the type of talks have been works in progress, journal club type talks, and at times, a talk from a visitor/collaborator. The recent successful "show-and-tell" sessions will be continued this year approximately once or twice per semester, when no speaker is scheduled.

Please email Chris Brunt if you'd like to be on the lunch talk mailing list.

We are always seeking volunteers to give talks. Graduate students and new staff members are especially encouraged to participate. This is a great opportunity to interact with other members of our department in an informal setting. If you know of collaborators or visitors that will be in Amherst and would be interested in giving lunch talks, please let me know. Questions and suggestions can be directed to Chris Brunt.

WHEN?

We meet at noon every Monday during the teaching semesters.

WHERE?

2MASS conference room (LGRT 644) on the 6th floor of the LGRT.

HOW?

Food is ordered from Delivery Express, and you can view their menus and restaurant list here. There will be some overhead on the prices they quote for gratuities, delivery charges and taxes.

Please use the html form linked from the restaurant name in the schedule below to make your selection and automatically mail Sally your menu choice. By using this form, you can also find out the total due for your selection including tips and tax.

Orders should be placed by 11am on Monday mornings.

When you show up for lunch, you should pay the money to Chris Brunt, who will have a list of what everybody ordered. Cash only please ;) Correct change is appreciated. NO IOUs.
